About Manali

Manali is situated only 40 km away from another beautiful hill station - Kullu. It is in fact, located at the northern border of the Kulu Valley. Over the last decade Manali has grown from a back of the beyond Himachali town to a busy tourist destination. It is the centre of a flourishing orchard industry, a popular honeymoon destination and trailhead for numerous treks. Manali has become a favorite destination for honeymooners since the last few years.

Statistics show that around 550 couples reach Manali daily for honeymoon in season (May, June, December, January) and around 350 couples reaches Manali daily in rest time.

By Road
Manali is well connected by road to Delhi through NH-21 and NH 1. The distance from:

Delhi to Manali is 585 km & Journey duration is 14 Hrs.
Chandigarh to Manali is 350 Kms & Journey duration is 10 Hrs.
Ambala to Manali is 380 Kms& Journey duration is 11 Hrs.
Shimla to Manali is 270 km & Journey duration is 8 Hrs.

By Train
Manali is not easily approachable by rail. The nearest broad gauge railheads are at Chandigarh (315 kms), Pathankot (325 kms) and Kalka (310 kms). The nearest narrow gauge railhead is at Joginder Nagar (135 kms).

By Air
Nearest Airport Bhuntar at Kullu ( 50 kms / 2 hrs). You can go Manali from Kullu airport via Taxi ( Rs 800/- approx).
